When it comes to fundraising ideas, they usually come to me in an instant and I act on them impulsively. During bowel cancer awareness month I knew that this was a strong possibility. So, today I’ve decided to write and record a new Fields of Dawn music release Check Your Poo! to raise funds for Bowel Cancer UK this month.

We don’t talk about poo much, and bearing in mind that blood in your poo for no obvious reason is one of the five main symptoms of bowel cancer, this needs to change. There seems to be no stigma when people talk about other parts of their body when it comes to cancer, but our bums seem to be considered dirty and off limits. Let’s try and change that 💩

I want to try and turn this release around quickly so that it overlaps at least with some of bowel cancer awareness month. So I am going to get busy writing words and music over the coming days. BUT………… I need your help now, as I want to put together a music video for the finished song, and for this I need your poo photos. It’s a chance to not just help me spread awareness about bowel cancer, but also an opportunity to have some fun with anything poo related that you want to do, from simply writing “Check You Poo!” on an A4 piece of paper and photograph yourself holding it, to anything as creative as you want to do including short videos. There are no rules. Please send anything you do to me as soon as you can please x

Today started with a treat for myself. I bought the whole digital music catalogue of Bristol band The Pleasure Dome. While giving Prince a pit stop this afternoon there was a lot of shouting going on, and this was the sight I saw. Not sure what the guy on the platform was shouting about but he wasn’t half giving it some! You would catch me going up that high I’d rather jump out of a plane. Oh but I have 😂 I believe our power supply is being upgraded so are these old wooden pylons coming down? That would be a shame… Until tomorrow x
