I had originally planned to spend a weekend in Edinburgh doing a couple of photos for The Record, one of which included Gillian Wood. Sadly this was scuppered, so we had a long chat on the phone, during which I found out all about her bowel cancer, and the road to recovery including her stoma reversal.

The Record Aiming For £1000

The Record has raised over £870 since its publication, and is available as a hardback, paperback and an eBook. I wrote the book in memory of my mum who died of bowel cancer in 2016. The book took over two and half years to complete, and it contains 65 chapters and 80,000 words. It is the best thing I’ve ever done and what I am most proud of. All profits raised from sales are being donated to Bowel Cancer UK.

2019 in Review

2019 has been has been an amazing year. The fundraising total for the year stands at around £2000. This means that since I began fundraising in 2012 after mum had surgery for bowel cancer around £10,000 has been raised for Bowel Cancer UK (inc Beating Bowel Cancer) and over £450 has now been raised for the Love Hope Strength Foundation.

Bowel Cancer UK Meet Together in London

I spent a really enjoyable couple of hours at the Bowel Cancer UK Meet Together in London this afternoon. It was held at the Horniman at Hays at London Bridge. It was a great opportunity to meet up with friends that I’ve met on social media, and make new friendships too. It’s a wonderful community who have been very supportive to me over the years.
