This morning I was out of the door quite early, so I managed to stop for a few minutes on my way to work to take this photo of rapeseed between Reading and Henley. I’ve been meaning to do this all week, as I think the sights of rapeseed fields at this time of the year is spectacular. Some years it is grown at the fields where I work, but corn is the crop being grown there this year. I think it’s so good for the soul to appreciate the sights and sounds that are on our doorsteps, which in our busy and hectic lives can easily pass us by. To be fair the camera doesn’t really do this scene justice.
Last night I had a really good night making music. I’m currently working on a new song provisionally called Sun and Rain, and to start with I decided to edit the guide track I had made a couple of days ago. It was just too long, so I have removed a verse and cut down on the intros going into each verse. Having done that I laid down a rhythm guitar track and then just tested out the guitar riff as well which to me sounds great, so my next task will be to lay this track down in full. I always find this part of the creation process so much fun and rewarding. A guide track is so useful, but once I put down a “proper” track, for me, the song begins to come alive. I’m hopeful that this track will be a cracker 🤞 Once completed it will leave one more track to do and then get the artwork done etc before going live with pre-sales. If anyone reading this would like to commit to a vinyl copy of the album I’d be really grateful as the more people who come on board with that will make it more viable. All profits raised by the album will be split between Bowel Cancer UK, Love Hope Strength and The Bowel Movement x
