There’s no doubt that on days like today you can feel that Spring is not too far away. Lovely out in the sunshine, although unfortunately for me my work unit doesn’t get much sun and is in the shade all day, where it is still absolutely freezing! On days like today where I didn’t have any trips out, the only respite from the cold of the unit was taking Prince outside for his pit stops! π The thermals were on today and that was definitely a wise move….
One of my favourite activities is going to watch live music. It’s been a little over two years since my last gig, and although there have been one or two opportunities in recent months, it’s only now that restrictions have been lifted that I feel able to book things up. It’s been a fine line that I have had to draw with being able to work and running the risk of having to self-isolate. However, I feel that now is the time to start to live my life a little. I certainly don’t intend to go crazy, and will continue to use common sense. I want to start seeing people again; people that I haven’t seen for a couple of years, and also new friends that I have met on social media. Life is too short… Anyway, this morning I booked up to see my favourite band The Alarm twice on their forthcoming tour in London and then Oxford. I am already feeling excited!
Talking of seeing people again. Tonight I saw two of my best friends, Lewis and Janet, for the first time in a couple of years. They live up north and were down seeing Lewis’ mum. I have been friends with Lewis for over 40 years, and was an Usher at their wedding in 1994. Blimey that makes me feel old π€£ It was a lovely evening, and it also served as a reminder to me just how good it is for the soul to see people in the flesh. It was a great tonic for sure π
The busy period at work shows no sign of slowing up, which is good news of course. Today was pretty full on, although it went to plan. The work is mounting up a bit, so I am going to have to put in a decent shift this week to keep on top of it all. Until tomorrow x
