Lunchtime walks at work have been a thing of the past since Prince was diagnosed with his seven slipped discs almost 5 years ago. I used to get out on the farm fields sometimes three times a day. It was always such a welcome break during the work and so good for my soul not to mention my physical health.

Bluebell coming into work with me is becoming a weekly occurrence over the last month or so. This has meant I am able to go back on the long walks in the fields and I’m really enjoying it. Today I even tried doing an Instagram live on the walk by the river. I’m not sure how good it was or came across, but I thought I’d give it a go.

This stretch of The Thames is between Marlow and Henley. As the crow flies it’s only few hundred yards behind my unit at work. It takes about 20 minutes to walk there using the designated footpaths, so the walk is a good 45 minutes which is perfect during the working day. We moved the business out here from Maidenhead in 2000. At the time we were struggling and would have gone under without making the move. Although it was sad to leave the hometown, the business has never looked back on the move. It’s a wonderful area to work. Peaceful and on the edge of the Chilterns with the river too. No wander it’s a popular spot for television and film crews. The business will almost certainly stay here now until I retire or it closes, whichever comes first…
