The Life of Mique teddy bear photos continued to arrive today, and the amazing support has continued with yet more orders coming in, which will all add to the Go Fund Me page. The teddy bears are now heading towards the £600 mark, and in only about 10 days ♥

The bowel cancer / cancer community has always been a great support to me really going back to 2012 when I first started fundraising as Mum was beginning her treatment for bowel cancer. This has continued since she died, and it has been especially important recently when I was struggling and feeling somewhat disconnected and lonely. The back end of 2021 and this new year have seen me turn a corner, and I have rediscovered a real zest, not just for fundraising and raising awareness about cancer, but also for life itself. Lots more to say about this stuff in the future. What I have found really touching in the last couple of weeks has been the support for Monique coming from people going through their own struggles with cancer. Yes for the teddy bears, but most importantly for Monique whether its donating to her Go Fund Me page or sending messages of love and support xx

I don’t think that it is any coincidence that Monique sharing one of the bear photos on her Instagram story has led to the orders that came in tonight. At such a difficult time it is amazing that felt able to do that x

This building site is where I began work in 1984 for the family business. The business, John Darvell Packaging Ltd, formed by Dad in 1976 moved here in the early 1980s and we were there until the mid 1990s. Back then there was a screen printing firm, a sign writer, a sweet factory, an engineering firm plus a couple more all tucked into a little estate. Happy memories. Times change, but what a soulless building of apartments this looks like being…

I had one of those days at work where everything fell perfectly into place. I had thought that I would have a tricky few days trying to juggle being at work to accept deliveries and also going out delivering orders! Fortunately the delivery I was expecting today arrived this morning, so I was able to get all my deliveries out this afternoon leaving me clear to be at work tomorrow for more deliveries arriving. Then Thursday I shall be heading into Wimbledon… Until tomorrow x
