Laura Kendrick died of stage 4 bowel cancer on February 22nd. She formed the Kindness Vs Cancer Campaign with the aim of raising £50,000 to transform outcomes for cancer patients. I lifted these words from the website… “Having experienced first-hand the impact of a health care sector in desperate need of a more progressive approach, my life’s work has become about transforming outcomes for cancer patients. I’m fundraising to significantly improve patient experience for those living with cancer and to create awareness and application of the mind-body connection – something that is simply not recognised in our current healthcare cancer pathways.”

#KindnessVsCancer Teddy Bear£20.00
One of Laura’s follows on social media, Jess, saw The Life of Mique teddy bears, and contacted me to see if I could do a bear to raise funds for Kindness Vs Cancer. Since then I have been in contact with Laura’s husband Grant, who has been incredibly helpful and supportive whilst going through such a difficult and heartbreaking time. The result of which is this #KindnessVsCancer teddy bear and all profits from every sale will be donated to the justgiving page. I know that Grant, the family and all of Laura’s friends will be very grateful for any support x
It is nice to have been asked to help with this, as the vast majority of my fundraising has been my own ideas and projects. Of course, this makes me want to try extra hard to make sure everything is done right. I had a few teething problems with the artwork of the campaign logo he sent me, but once I managed to solve the compatibility issues with my Cricut cutter it has come out really well. Once Grant had seen the image and web page, I was able to put the teddy bears live, so you can pre-order now. The reason for a pre-sale is to give me a chance to gauge numbers and give myself a chance to get as many bears in as required and get started on making them up.
Sometimes out of sadness and awful times, there can be glimmers of light shining through. I hope that the teddy bears can provide that to those that knew Laura, and also make a contribution to the fundraising campaign x
