Kelly Nicholson with her Life of Mique teddy
Mareta and the Life of Mique bear

The amazing support for Monique Buckingham has continued today with a whole load of new orders taking the amount raised by the Life of Mique teddy bears to over Ā£900, which I’ve donated to the Go Fund Me page. I can’t believe that it’s still less than two weeks since the idea was hatched. Quite incredible and you should all be so proud of yourselves and the contribution you have made. It is also really important that the fundraising for Monique continues as the cost for private consultations and potential treatment is extremely expensive.

More photos arrived today from two ladies who have followed Monique and supported the fundraising whilst going through extremely tough times themselves. My thanks to Kelly and Mareta for their support. I have also received a few offers to help, which I am ever so grateful for. I’m not sure if there is anything anyone can really do to help as far as the teddy bears go, but sharing and posting links is always appreciated, and if anyone has any ideas as to how to help in any way I’m always happy to listen x

Monique’s kindness appears to have no limits. Her posts have also led to orders coming in for some of the other fundraising cuddly toys. The idea for the Life of Mique bears came from the successful start to the year with the four Gift-A-Bears, which are continuing to sell well with everyone who buys one of them being able to choose the charity where the profits from the sale are donated to. I thought Poodolph was done until next Christmas, but no he seems to keep selling 12 months of the year! Last but by no means least is the original cuddly toy, the Stop Bowel Cancer Bears, which continues to do well and has been sold to and also travelled to most parts of the world.

Monique suggested that I could create a rivers2cross page on Instagram, and the more I’ve thought about that the more I think it’s a great idea. The @bowelbear page is already half way there, so I am considering changing the page name to rivers2cross where all the bowel bear photos can remain and be joined by all the new photos that come in of all the other fundraising items. Anyway still thinking about that, but watch this space…

Today me and Prince stopped off at Littlewick Green churchyard to see the folk’s grave. It’s a regular stop for us on our work travels and I was keen to see the snowdrops which I planted behind the headstone and were taken from my parents garden before the house was sold. Prince enjoys it there although I am not sure he should be weeing on mum and dad’s grave!!!

Snowdrops behind the grave

As ever I’m always glad at the end of another working week to have a break. It’s been a fairly busy week and next week is now shaping up to be quite busy. But for now that can wait… Until tomorrrow x
