Bowel Cancer Awareness Month

My plastic poo is getting everywhere even aboard The Titanic with Kate and Leonardo! This photo idea might feature in the video for Check Your Poo, depending on how many people send me their photos / videos for inclusion. I am still some way short of what I need, so if you are up for a little bit of fun please send me poo photo for inclusion. The song costs as little as £1 from https://rivers2cross.com/product/check-your-poo-fields-of-dawn-download/ All profits donated to Bowel Cancer UK, and it is also now available on all the usual digital music platforms.

45 people die of bowel cancer in the UK every day. It is the second highest cancer killer in the UK each year. Early diagnosis is key which is why raising awareness is so important.

The symptoms of bowel cancer can include:

  • Bleeding from your bottom and/or blood in your poo.
  • A persistent and unexplained change in bowel habit.
  • Unexplained weight loss.
  • Extreme tiredness for no obvious reason.
  • A pain or lump in your tummy.

On this day three years I landed at JFK and headed straight into New York City. I’d done the same trip the year before, so I kind of half knew what I was doing 😊 No time for jet lag with 2 Alarm gigs, cramming in sightseeing, meeting up with friends from both sides of The Atlantic and Record Store Day 2019 with Mike Peters of The Alarm of course. I’d been up for 24 hours when I got this photo taken at Bar 65 at the Top of the Rock. I kind of blagged my way in there 🤣 It was a quite amazing four days and three nights. It’s a fantastic city that I immediately felt at home with. It’s easy being a tourist of course. Of course since then we’ve had the pandemic and I haven’t even got a valid passport now, so I’m not sure when I will get back there, but get back there I will one day x

I’ve had some really interesting stats on Spotify over the last three days. In Germany of all places my Fields of Dawn songs are being heavily streamed on Spotify with almost 200 streams! I have no idea how this kind of thing happens, but even if it means a few extra pence in the fundraising coffers then I’ll happily take it. If you are on Spotify you can listen to my Fields of Dawn playlist.

Work was reasonably busy today. I had a decent trip out this morning with a full van, and I also had one very decent order come in, which was a good start to this short working week before Easter. I’ve actually driven the van home from work tonight, so me and Prince will be going out delivering straight from home in the morning.

I woke up feeling a little wobbly and anxious again today. I’m not entirely sure what is behind this now, as I feel ok as far as the sadness and bereavement that I had yesterday. I’ve felt better as the day has gone on, so I’m hoping I’ll be back to full fitness tomorrow hopefully… Until tomorrow x
