Aside from taking the massive first step a few months ago and admitting that I had mental issues in the form of depression and anxiety, the first challenge I faced was whether or not to take anti-depressants. This wasn’t an easy decision and I’ll admit I had thoughts of meaning me being a failure, especially because I was in such a low place. The first week on Sertraline was very difficult, which I know is common for people and I was so close to giving up on them. I felt detached, had an upset stomach and couldn’t see that as a way to live my life. However, I knew that I had to give it a chance and so I carried on and thankfully into the second week the side effects calmed down. Sertraline has been an important crutch helping to re-balance me. Alongside the CBT sessions I am feeling more like a normal human being for the first time in such a long time. Don’t get me wrong this is only the start, and I know I have a long way to go and lots of work still do on myself. But also I am celebrating these foundations and building blocks that I have laid for myself. I said to a friend that I should have done this years ago, and most wisely they replied that I could have not should have x

There are four bears available, Buddy, Cuddles, Honey and Trooper. You can also choose which charity you would like the profits from your purchase donated to. These bears would make a lovely gift for anyone, child or adult, or any place like a hospice or children’s ward or indeed for an event or celebration. The options are endless. A cracking beer mat arrived in the post today from DJ Richard Latto who hosts Stereo Underground every Saturday night on BBC Sounds. I had my request read out for The Vapours last week, so he sent me this in the post. Happy days…

A farcical disaster at work this afternoon. I was reversing the forklift out of the unit and heard a bang and thought something had gone badly wrong with the forklift, as it looked like a big oil spray too… Ummmmm it turned out a car paint spray can had fallen underneath the forklift and I reversed over it! Not oil but blue paint which has left its mark on the unit floor, a fair few boxes, and on my face 🤣

Tonight I have got the record player on and I’m listening to The Charlatans. Having a night off the television, which is just a little tweak but once again a bit of self-care, as was cleaning the bathroom… Perhaps not! All in all I really good day. Until tomorrow x
