Friendship seems to have been on my mind a lot this weekend. Perhaps it’s not being in North Wales with so many friends who are there celebrating 40 years of The Alarm. Friendships are to be treasured and I count myself fortunate to be blessed with many wonderful friends. The pandemic has meant not seeing so many people for the last couple of years, and I suppose you can’t but help to feel a little lonely as a result. It was great seeing my great friends Lewis and Janet this week for the first time in over two years. I have booked up to see The Alarm in London and Oxford on their forthcoming tour over the next month or so, and it will be lovely to catch up with some friends at both those gigs.
I have met so many friends through the fundraising, many on social media who I have never met in person, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have great friendships with each other. I hope that I will get to meet some of the online friends community in the not too distant future x There’s no doubt that the teddy bears have shown me the kindness, generosity and all the good things that are still so present in this world at a time when so many awful things are happening. It was a really special afternoon a few weeks ago going to Colchester to meet Monique (Life of Mique) Buckingham. This week the launch of the Kindness Vs Cancer bears have shown a real sense of community and kindness in the people of West Berkshire pulling together over the loss of Laura Kendrick to bowel cancer. Treasure your friendships ❤ Until tomorrow x
