Well today has been a bit of a hair disaster!! It all started ok with the photo of me this morning at the dog field. Nice and mild, a big smile with signs of Spring everywhere at long last. Winters always seem sooooooo long! Late afternoon I decided it was time for my DIY grade 2 haircut, which I do every 4-6 weeks. Having had the curls for a good five years or more, when the pandemic struck I decided to go back to short hair, and I have been happy to keep it short for the last couple of years. After I had done the edging and around my ears I decided to just go back over the back one more time. Being the complete plank that I am I forgot to put the grade 2 clipper guard back on and as a result I ended with a cracking bald strip! π
So my first reaction was one of complete horror. This was followed by many words, most of which started with the letter ‘f’ and ended in ‘k’! Options? Well shave it all off, or do a monk style pudding bowl cut, or try and make it semi presentable for a few weeks whilst it grows back. It was suggested that I could shave it all off for charity, which is a pretty good idea, but perhaps not quite workable when I needed an immediate solution… π
In the end I decided to try and do a grade 1 around the sides and back whilst leaving the top as grade 2. It was not very easy, as doing it myself meant a little bit of guess work, the use of an additional mirror, and my finger as a guide line! As least the bald bit doesn’t look quite so bad now… π
So after a shower I took Prince out for his teatime walk around the block, and therefore made my first public appearance with my “new” haircut! If you compare this smile with the one from this morning I think you can see I am, let’s just say, a little unsure π Hey ho it’s not the end of the world, and at least looking on the bright side, by not having had a date in three years I am not in danger of missing out on any dating opportunities as a result of this mishap π Until tomorrow x
