I have posted on a number of occasions recently about the importance of self-care and treating yourself. I ordered this Alarm necklace back in January, so I have had to be patient whilst it was made in the USA by DeAnna Cochran Jewelry. Like me, she is a fan of The Alarm and supplies these pieces through the band’s website. This new piece actually completes my set of the three Alarm pendants. So impressed was I with DeAnna’s work that I got her to make me a special pendant where she made my book cover into a pendant and put Mum’s signature on the back of it. I always say that I am looking after these pieces for the future Mrs D! She had better hurry up and make herself known to me 😄
It’s funny how sometimes everything comes into perfect alignment. Yesterday I received my Strength mini re Treat box, and today this new pendant which is a replication of The Alarm’s logo from their second album Strength released back in 1985. Yes I know I couldn’t possibly have been born! 😂
As you can see, I now have quite a collection hanging around my neck! Joking aside, they mean the absolute world to me. My favourite band for the last 39 years, and the very special memento connected to Mum ❤
Let’s not forget that bowel cancer does not discriminate and can attack any of us. In my Check Your Poo song I use the lyrics You can never be too young based on the phrase used far and wide these days especially by the far too many young people diagnosed with bowel cancer. Again too may of them at a late stage. More and more young people are being diagnosed with bowel cancer. England’s 1966 World Cup winning captain Bobby Moore died of this awful disease aged just 51.
The symptoms of bowel cancer can include:
- Bleeding from your bottom and/or blood in your poo.
- A persistent and unexplained change in bowel habit.
- Unexplained weight loss.
- Extreme tiredness for no obvious reason.
- A pain or lump in your tummy.
Last day of work tomorrow before the welcome Easter break. Plenty to do, but the countdown has started… Until tomorrow x
