Tomorrow is National Album Day 2022, which the focus this year being on Debut albums. For a minnow like me and Fields of Dawn it means little in reality. In fact I could even get a single response from any independent record stores as far as selling A new Dawn goes. So the one-man marketing approach continues as I try to sell a few more copies to take the fundraising past £1000.
To date the Vinyl LP and CDs have sold pretty much in equal amounts. It was a difficult decision, especially with the Vinyl LP, to set the pricing. All my prices include postage, but I must admit sometimes I wonder if I was to reduce the price and then add postage at checkout would that entice people more? I suppose what I hope and believe is that people know that all the profits are going to the three cancer charities, so it’s a really worthwhile purchase. I also think it’s a pretty good album and good value 🙂
- Over £900 has been raised for Bowel Cancer UK, Love Hope Strength & The Bowel Movement
- All prices include postage and packaging
- At least £12 from each Vinyl LP order is raised
- At minimum of £7 is raised by the CDs
- £7.45 are raised by the downloads sold on rivers2cross.com
There are around 60 Vinyl LPs left now. Ordering 100 was always an expensive gamble for me personally, but it was a no brainer in terms of making it more viable as a fundraising item. The CDs are down to around 16. I am undecided if I will do another run of them. I’d like to if the interest is there.
The promotion probably is a little relentless on your social media news feeds and I won’t carry it on too much longer hopefully. That £1000 milestone would perhaps be the perfect way to draw a line under the project. To achieve that I would need to sell around 8 more Vinyl LPs, or 12 of the CDs and Downloads. Hopefully this can be achieved. The support for the album has been incredible and I am so very grateful to everyone ❤
