Typically, just as we enter the next few days of intense heat, my friend’s dog ate my straw sun hat last night! Apart from my Henley hat and winter beanies, I am hatless. I knew today I would just have to be careful in the sun, but what I did do this morning and which arrived late afternoon was to order a new hat. Thankfully this will give me a little extra protection from the heat over the next three days. I believe it’s a fishing hat, but that is something that I definitely won’t be doing any time soon!

Talking of protecting ourselves from the sun, which is so so important. Yesterday, I went to see the doctor. I have been thinking of having some cosmetic surgery done to remove a little lump on my lip, but the more ethical companies I’ve approached want a doctor’s referral first. So yesterday I had an appointment to get the referral. The good news is I can have the lump removed on the NHS. The bad news is that this is because the doctor said it could be skin cancer! I have a non-urgent referral so it could be a few months, so whether I look into having it done privately instead I will have to decide. Not what I was expecting, but hopefully it is something a lot less sinister fingers crossed x
