Out of the blue yesterday the Vinyl LPs arrived. In fact they were delivered to my neighbour at work by mistake, so it’s a good job we all get on ok! I am so happy with them. I am someone who grew up buying lots of vinyl records as a teenager. People can argue all they want about what sounds better, but there is something quite special about putting vinyl on the turntable and watching the record spin as the sound comes out through the speakers. I would also add that I am an avid CD buyer and also buy plenty of downloads, so I really do embrace it all. However, when it comes to my own record, the vinyl especially, is something that means so much to me and something I am incredibly proud of. No matter where my life takes me, or what I do as far as fundraising goes, this will stay with me forever ❤
When I was recording the album, the thought of getting vinyls done was always there. Some of you kindly bought some of the 7″ vinyl releases over the last 18 months. To make it financially viable for the album I had to switch to an overseas manufacturer and buy in bulk. This of course has left me a big challenge in selling as many of the 100 copies that I’ve ordered as I can. My original plan was to order 50, but it didn’t cost that much more to get 100 made, so it was a no brainer and also helps with the profit margin for fundraising.
The release date is exactly one month away. As I now have everything in place I can spend the next few weeks promoting and building up to the release day. Hopefully I can generate a few more sales. The fundraising stands at just under £550 at the moment, and the amount raised will be divided between Bowel Cancer UK, Love Hope Strength and The Bowel Movement. Thank you to everyone who has supported the release so far, and for anyone thinking about buying the Vinyl, CD or Download I am truly grateful for any support.
