One thing I have learnt, is that when possible it is really good for your mental health and wellbeing to treat yourself occasionally. I’ll be totally honest, I didn’t really need to buy this red and white splatter edition of Omega by The Alarm. I have already ordered the deluxe edition of the album from the band’s website, but who doesn’t like a bit of splattered vinyl in their collection. A definite treat for myself and it gave me a nice buzz. The other treat I have ordered for myself in the last couple of days is one of the new blue and white Rebellious Hope men’s t-shirts for the Bowelbabe Fund. I already have a white one, but it is huge on me, and in any case it’s a cause worth supporting of course. Massive love and congratulations to Deborah and the Inthestyle team for raising £1 million through the clothing range in just a few weeks!
Talking of music, tonight I think I have finally finished recording the Fields of Dawn album. This final track on the album is a piano led ballad called No Man’s Land, and is based on the story of the Football Match between the British and German soldiers on Christmas Day 1914. So I think it also counts as being a Christmas song! Maybe I should release it as a single for the festive season later in the year. I am incredibly grateful to Jason Bradley for playing keyboards on the track. If you bought the Goodbye Farewell EP a couple of years ago, you might remember Jason recording a version of the song with Mike Dlugozima. I need to spend a couple of days listening back to the song now to make sure I am 100% happy with it. Then it’s really preparing the tracks for uploading to the vinyl manufacturer and getting the sleeve artwork ready. It’s been an absolute joy recording music again, and I am looking forward to hearing what people think of it. In the meantime if you want to pre-order the vinyl edition, I would be incredibly grateful as I try to sell all 50 vinyl copies x All profits raised by the album will be shared between Bowel Cancer UK, Love Hope Strength and The Bowel Movement.
