If yesterday was a time for taking a breath, today I’m right back on it with the launch of the pre-sale for the vinyl edition of my Fields Of Dawn cancer fundraising album, A New Dawn. You may think it strange that I seemed to have done an about turn since yesterday, and to some extent that is true. The nature of the teddy bears is a little different to the music. For a week or so the bears was crazy and it took up so much time, yet I would do it again in an instant. To have raised over £1100 so far for the Bowelbabe Fund is brilliant and a credit to everyone who has supported them.
There is not the same intensity with the music, and the fact that the vinyl won’t be here for almost 8 months means that can tick along in the background for the time being. The album will do well to get anywhere close to raising the amount raised by the teddies, but if you would like to support it I’d be very grateful. All profits raised from every sale will be shared between Bowel Cancer UK, Love Hope Strength and The Bowel Movement. Anyone who orders the vinyl will also get a free copy of the download when that comes out in the autumn. Five copies out of 50 pre-ordered so far, so plenty left, but a great start 🙏
What I have also reminded myself over the last 24 hours is how much I enjoy fundraising, raising awareness and making so many lovely friendships as a result, and also how people living with cancer have issues going on every single day, whether it be treatment, consultations, scans, waiting for results and of course living with life-changing consequences of cancer. Whilst never diminishing my life and any issues I have, it really puts an awful lot into perspective. Until tomorrow x
