Looking back on 2022 in what I hope will be a positive manner. The news once again this year has been full of just the most depressing stories, so my recap won’t touch on any of that… For me 2022 began at the dog field on New Years Day with Prince. He is almost 14 now and is still a complete superstar defying the 2 month to 2 year life expectancy he was given 5 years ago when he was diagnosed with 7 slipped discs.
I wasted no time cracking on with the fundraising and launched the Gift-A-Bears at the beginning of the year. The idea behind the four bears was to allow the person buying the bear to decide which charity would receive the profits from their purchase. They proved to be an amazing success and people also donated a number of these bears to local hospitals and hospices, which was especially heart-warming.
This brilliant video supporting the bears was made by the amazing Laura Hopkinson. Total genius and it was a labour of love to come up with this. Laura, who has stage 4 bowel cancer, was gifted her Buddy bear by, Lisa, one of my American friends, which was such a lovely gesture. This year has been full of kindness, which means the absolute world to me x
I also started the year trying to move the music recording forwards. My dream had always been to release an album, but the first two years of Fields of Dawn had been focussed on releasing singles. I knew that in order to get an album out I would need to write and record some new songs. However, little did I realise that 2022 would see that dream come true…
January is always such a long month, but this one flew by. Towards the end of the month a new fundraising idea began, the Life of Mique teddy bears, more of which will be covered in the February recap.
