On the back of such a lovely summer, the weather remained mild through the autumn. This was especially welcome at work, where the temperature inside my unit plummets, so the transition to thermals and grim days was delayed. Taking Bluebell into work meant that I was back out on the farm fields where I used to walk Prince and Storm in their younger days, and it is something that I have missed. It is such a good thing for the mental health to get out for a bit during the day.
With all my fundraising projects, I encourage people to send me photos back. Not only does help me with my promotion, but it gives me some wonderful memories that I will be able to look back on. With the Fields of Dawn album I got some great photos back including this cracking one from Paul, Bill and Pete. All three very generously bought the vinyl, and three legends who said they would buy the vinyl when I first floated the idea, thus giving me the confidence to go ahead with the Vinyl format alongside the CD and Download.
I hadn’t planned to be doing new music so soon after the album release. However, when the Christmas release took shape, I needed to rework the ending to No Man’s Land. I decided to add a couple of acoustic tracks to make it into an EP. It was an interesting project and doing the acoustic tracks once again showed me how far I had come, especially in terms of production. I was able to capture the acoustic sound exactly as I wanted.
A new style cuddly toy came to my attention in October. Up until this point all the cuddly animals were done by printing on t-shirts. These teddies, you actually print straight onto the tummy, which makes the whole process a lot more simple. Ultimately as prices inevitably rise, this allows me to keep my prices down. Also it’s great to revamp some of the bears. The Stop Bowel Cancer Teddies started things off, so they were the first to be updated. I haven’t pushed these too hard due to everything else that I have been doing fundraising, but they will no doubt have their moment during 2023.
