Today has been all about my Fields of Dawn track, On The Way Back, getting played on BBC Radio. A real highlight for me to hear my music getting played on the BBC, something that you always dream about. When I began to make music again a couple of years ago I would never have believed that it would have got to where we are today with it. Over £1000 raised and now this. The video is an edited down recording of how it appeared on Stereo Underground with Richard Latto. If you want to catch up with the show it is available on BBC Sounds and my appearance is at around the 1 hour 35 minutes mark.

Up until this point I’ve had no success getting the music onto the BBC, but I have had some wonderful support from some smaller stations for which I am so so grateful. I’d previously tried to get this track on BBC Introducing with no success. Last week on the back of having my request for a track by The Vapors played on the show, I decided to email Richard and tell him about the release. It was a long shot, but to my delight and massive shock he came with a very positive yes, proving that if you don’t ask you don’t get!

It will be interesting to see if the song now gets any additional interest on the back of this. As it is available on all streaming platforms it might be that that is where the figures might increase, but I really have no idea. It is not important really, as on a personal level this is such a great boost being recognised for doing something that I really enjoy.

Celebrating on hearing the track on the radio

On The Way Back is available in the store to buy as a CD, Download and 7″ Vinyl. It is also available to stream and download on all the main digital music platforms including Spotify, Amazon and iTunes. All profits raised are donated to the Love Hope Strength Foundation co-founded by Mike and Jules Peters of The Alarm.

In other news today another Gift-A-Bear order, which as well as being incredibly grateful for, means that I am ordering a new batch of bears and hoodies. In just a couple of weeks I’ve sold more than I could ever have predicted. Thank you for all the amazing support, and please keep it coming. The different stories and the different charities benefitting is giving my fundraising a whole new outlook. There is always someone out there who deserves a gift. Until tomorrow x
