Tonight I treated myself to a proper alcoholic beer. My first drink in 21 months! I’ve always said that I would have a drink when I felt like it, and tonight for no real reason, apart from it being the end of a warm summer’s day, I fancied a cold beer. It’s Rebellion Blonde from the Rebellion Brewery in Marlow. I was actually given this as a gift from a neighbour at work last Christmas.

The 600+ days without a drink is something I am incredibly proud about, but there was never any need to prove anything to myself. Life is short and I have always enjoyed a drink and as part of wanting to get out there and live a little bit again it just feels like the right time. I’ve come a very long way in the last 12 months and I feel it’s time to spread my wings a little x
