The last time I was in London was to see a gig way back in November 2019. Smalltown Glory was the band and it was a fantastic evening. Little did I know it would be over two years before I would be back in the capital. I’ve always enjoyed coming into London whether it be to watch the football, go to a gig, meeting friends or in those heady times when I even had the occasional date! 😂 I don’t think I have ever gone this long without coming into London, so it was great to be back! I have been lucky during the pandemic to have been able to have kept on working, certainly from a mental health aspect. My work is pretty solitary and I’ve done very little socially, so going to watch Arsenal v Wolves with over 50,000 people was going to be something very different. I wondered if I would feel anxious about being with crowds in such a compact space after so long, but actually it felt good to be doing something “normal” again and gave me a big boost. An injury time winner for Arsenal meant a happy journey home. I hope I am back in London again soon. I will continue to be sensible and considerate to others and feel it is important that the government and society finds ways to help and support vulnerable people, many of whom will be feeling more isolated than ever with the ending of COVID restrictions.

It was a beautiful scene at the churchyard visiting mum and dad’s grave. Late winter sunshine and signs of the coming spring everywhere with early daffodils beginning to flower. It’s such a peaceful place to visit, and where I can take a few moments and gather my thoughts.

It was a decent day with the footie in the evening and work continuing to be busy. Until tomorrow x (or will in fact be later today)
