Bluebell

Meet, Bluebell, my new partner in crime for the day! Before anyone wonders or worries, Prince is absolutely fine and having a day at home while I have this one for the day. Bluebell is an American Bully and 1 years old. She is gorgeous and such a lovely dog. I am hoping to take her with me to North Wales next month for the Love Hope Strength 10-mile hike along the coast, so she needs to build her up her walking and vehicle travelling before then and hence why she is with me today.

First thing was to take her out for a walk in the farm fields when we arrived at work. Back in the day when Storm was alive, and when Prince was younger and before his back problems, I would walk here every day. It’s about 5 years since I last walked a dog out here and it was lovely. It’s a part of the working day that I have really missed. Bluebell loved it too, and was so well behaved, although she did take an interest in the hundreds of geese that were in her midst!

Her first trip in the van was a mixed success. She was very hesitant about getting into it, and I ended up having to lift her in when not even a biscuit would entice her in. Once we got going though she was fine and with the aircon keeping her cool. She soon got used to me getting out to unload and knowing the passenger side was her side! 😂 We came back to work through Henley and I decided to open the windows as we were stuck in traffic. My error, as between here and work, maybe 10 minutes, Bluebell was ill. Think it was the heat, so lesson learned stick to the aircon and she has been fine since.

I don’t want to go in the office!
I love the office 😂

The other challenge I had this morning was Bluebell really didn’t like being inside the unit, especially the office. I have a chain for Prince, which I clipped to her collar which was fine, but for the first hour she stayed out in the warehouse and the closest she eventually came to the office was Prince’s bed just outside the door. By lunchtime, and after our trip in the van, I decided to let her decide in her own time where she wanted to be, and of course once I turned my back she slid into the office and has been happy in there ever since. Overall it’s been a very successful introduction me thinks.

Bluebell has predictably been a big hit with everyone on the estate at work. The centre of attention with plenty of fuss being made of her. Everyone is expecting her to become a permanent fixture! I think Prince will have something to say about that as he is going absolutely nowhere at the moment ❤
