Another day that has not gone to plan, not that you would know from this photo of Prince happily eating his tea tonight. Anyone who read yesterday’s post will know we should have been in Leeds this weekend. Today things Prince has been my concern. He has defied the odds for the last four and a half years with his seven slipped discs. He was originally given a life expectancy of between 2 months and 2 years. Over 4 and a half years on and he is still here ❤ To manage his condition I lift him in and out of the car and van, He is not allowed to go up stairs or jump on the sofa etc. My own little sacrifice has been sleeping with him on the living room floor for those four and a half years. WE make a great team and he has done so well to live for so long with this condition.
Today I had to take Prince to vet. His legs started to give way on Thursday and then again late last night and as a result he has been unsteady on his feet. Not great and because he has piles and been bleeding quite a bit I was worried that they could be connected. The vet prescribed anti-inflammatories, but the big bombshell is that she fears that as well as the piles there is a cancerous tumour. Without having the investigations done it impossible to know. However, Prince is 13 and a half and even if it is cancer, is it fair to put him through any treatment, even that of a non-invasive kind including the investigations. He is not in any pain and I took him to his lovely physio for a session on his back tonight which he enjoyed and I’m sure will help. Ultimately any decision has to be what is best for Prince and his quality of life.
So plenty of positive thoughts for Prince please. Uncertain times ahead, and he really is my world x
