This is one of my favourite places at work. It’s a 10-15 walk up through the woods. A pretty steep incline, hence the reason for my out of breath video on social media earlier. I used to walk Prince and his mum, Storm, up the hill pretty much every lunchtime. Note to myself… Get fit!! It was always a great way to get away from work for half an hour. Since Prince has had his slipped discs this has no longer been possible. However, with the window for seeing the bluebells in their full glory pretty short, I left Prince at work and made the walk myself today. It was absolutely perfect with the blue sky and the sun glinting through the trees in the woods. It was too good an opportunity to pass up, especially as I had done my deliveries and also had a job collected. I transferred the work phone to my mobile and went on my merry way. Bluebells are right up in my favourite flowers. I remember as children Mum and Dad took us in the car out for early evening drinks outside Henley which took us through some amazing bluebell woods , and perhaps I was turned back onto these by Mum in her later years.
This photo of Storm and Prince was taken back in May 2013. Prince was 4 at the time and used to fly around! Storm died of cancer in 2017.
The back end of April and May are my favourite times of the year. The colours everywhere as things come into flower and wake up from winter is simply beautiful. We are so fortunate to have this on our doorstep at work. It was probably when the business relocated here in 2000 that I really began to appreciate the countryside and just how fortunate we are to live on such a beautiful island x
Things went to plan at work, and it has remained busy, but under control. Tomorrow is a morning of going out delivering, before a delivery arrives after lunch. That’s the plan anyway! Until tomorrow x
