Today has been a day of arrivals. This wonderful print arrived today and is the creation of the amazingly talented Lucy Dunbar. There is no mistaking the late Dame Deborah James and Lucy is selling these prints to raise funds for the Bowelbabe Fund. It’s such a beautiful illustration and once the frame arrives it will be a lovely reminder of everything that Deborah achieved and what a total legend she was.
The other exciting arrival today was the test pressing of the Fields of Dawn Vinyl LP. They tried to deliver yesterday but I was unable to update the delivery instructions. The manufacturer, for some unknown reason, sent them to my home address instead of work which is always a bit frustrating. Anyway, I got them to leave the package in my spare dustbin today! What a thing of beauty it is… Just look at it! A vinyl LP of my album ❤ Firstly, I had to listen to it, so I could approve it for the bulk run of the 100 copies I’ve ordered and I’m glad to report it sounded spot on. I look back all those years ago to when we had The Majority and how we dabbled in recording using a 4-track reel-to-reel, but we were never able to push on with the music. Now, I’ve realised a life long ambition in releasing an album on vinyl. Of course, it’s really important that I sell as many copies as I can to raise as much money for the three charities as possible, but I’m really so immensely proud of this creation regardless of how it does in terms of fundraising.
You can buy A New Dawn directly from this page in all three formats. All profits raised are donated to Bowel Cancer UK, Love Hope Strength and The Bowel Movement. £450 raised so far which is wonderful, but I still have a whole pile of vinyl LPs and CDs that I’d love to sell x
