Lunchtime walks at work have been a thing of the past since Prince was diagnosed with his seven slipped discs almost 5 years ago. I used to get out on the farm fields sometimes three times a day. It was always such a welcome break during the work and so good for my soul not to mention my physical health.
This Christmas the reindeer are getting a revamp. Poodolph supporting Bowel Cancer UK and #14 supporting Love Hope Strength will both be back albeit in this new style. Joining them will be a third reindeer, Angel, who will allow you to have the profits from your order donated to the charity of your choice.
It’s been quite an interesting and eventful day. I have said on a number of occasions how helpful the photos I receive from people with their copies of A New Dawn are. On the back of receiving these two photos today more sales came through.

October is bound to be a month of reflection for me, especially for someone who has been a chronic overthinker in the past. Removing all the horrendous going on in the UK and the wider world at the moment, the last 12 months has been a time of great change for me. Certainly as far as mental health goes and I am much the better for it. Work in progress, but hopefully taking steps in the right direction. I am sure I will be speaking more about this during the next few weeks.
A massive and heartfelt thanks to Stuart Ling, A1 photographer, who captured the moment recently in Dyserth, North Wales during the Love Hope Strength beach hike weekend, when Steve ‘Smiley’ Barnard, drummer with The Alarm, gave my album a Bob Geldof Live Aid-esque like ringing endorsement during his set on the Friday night.
I met Steve Norman from Spandau Ballet almost 4 years ago, in Brighton with his partner Sabrina Winter, for The Record. That meeting and their inclusion in the book has led to me making lots of new friendships on social media and I’ve had some terrific support for my fundraising as a result. Friday night finally gave me the perfect opportunity to see Steve and his band The Sleevz play live at The Whitty Theatre in Wokingham, which is only a 15 minute drive from Reading.
Remembering Kelly kickasskell Smith today on what would have been her 34th birthday. Her family and many friends have been posting the most lovely images and stories full of love for an amazing lady, who sadly died of bowel cancer just over two years ago.
This week I received the results / outcome of my recent appointment with Urology about a lump I have. It is good news as the path forwards in monitoring and not surgery at this stage.
Little did I realise back in early 2020 that going to the Bowel Cancer UK Patient Day in Manchester would be the last event I’d be going to for two and a half years.
