2022 in Review – October
With all my fundraising projects, I encourage people to send me photos back. Not only does help me with my promotion, but it gives me some wonderful memories that I will be able to look back on.

With all my fundraising projects, I encourage people to send me photos back. Not only does help me with my promotion, but it gives me some wonderful memories that I will be able to look back on.
September saw 4 gigs in 8 days. I think its fair to say that I was a little out of practice and not really match fit for this kind of intense itinerary. However, live music is one of my most favourite things to go and see, and the pandemic brought that to an end for
The fundraising continued with the TEAMDDB teddy bears. Danny De Brabander is living with stage 4 terminal bowel cancer. The TEAMDDB charity has already raised a staggering £100,000 for charity. Danny contacted me to see if we could do some bears and I was delighted to help. The 100 copies of the Vinyl LPs arrived
July saw the temperatures soar and the grass turn brown! Little did we know that this was a taster of what was going to be a very hot and long heatwave that was to be the hottest and driest summer since 1976.
June saw the completion of the Fields of Dawn album, A New Dawn. The poppy in the photo, which I took at work, was used on the front cover of the album along with the memorial statue of the two soldiers from the 1914 Christmas Day football match during the ceasefire.
May saw another fundraising project and adventures with the launch of the Bowel Babe Teddy bears. Deborah James had announced that she was on end of life care and had set up The Bowel Babe Fund. I sold the teddies to support the fund and thanks to wonderful and generous support they raised around £1500. I’d known Deborah for almost 5 years, so this meant a lot to me.
April is bowel cancer awareness month. A time when the whole bowel cancer community comes together to raise awareness about this awful disease. With bowel cancer in the spotlight for this month it also gives us the opportunity to raise vital funds for the cancer charities.
March saw my return to watching live music. It had been over 2 years since my last concert, which was seeing The Alarm play at The Gathering in North Wales. It was perhaps no surprise that my first gig back would also be seeing The Alarm. This time it was at The Electric Ballroom in London.
February sees the first signs of nature giving its first nod towards the oncoming Spring. Snowdrops were one of Mum’s favourite flowers and before her house was sold I took a few bulbs to plant at the grave, so they hold special significance each year when they flower.
Looking back on 2022 in what I hope will be a positive manner. The news once again this year has been full of just the most depressing stories, so my recap won’t touch on any of that…
