December has not been the favourite December I’ve had. The worst possible start adding to vehicle woes was the van door almost being ripped off in North Wales by the wind. It meant that I couldn’t get to the Christmas gig in the evening whilst waiting for breakdown to arrive. I was grateful to my brother for driving across to Rhyl from Leeds and taking me and Prince home the following day. Since the incident, I’ve been badly let down by the breakdown and insurance companies making it a very expensive episode. Fortunately the body shop on my estate at work was able to get to the drivers door to close making it usable for work until the repairs are done in the new year.
The clear vinyl copies of Destination Unknown arrived and they look and sound amazing. I had really wanted to get them made in the Far East so I could have fully glossy picture sleeves etc, but I would never have sold enough to make it viable. At least getting them pressed on clear vinyl here in the UK makes them look extra special.
December was scan time again with both Ultrasound and CT Scans. The Ultrasound results were ok, although I didn’t get the complete all clear that I had been hoping for, so it looks like another scan in 6 months for that. The CT scan was done just before Christmas, so I’m not expecting the results of that until into the new year.
I think it was always going to be difficult for me to get totally into the Christmas spirit with all that had been going on during December and back in November to be fair. The vehicle situation was extremely stressful, but at least with the van a plan is in place now for the repairs. The car situation should hopefully become more clear during January, but not having had it for a couple of months has also be quite stressful. The health situation also adds to the anxiety. Most likely everything is fine, but until news arrives to confirm this it does lie at the back of your mind. Christmas itself was nice. Pretty low key this year, but having a week off work to recharge the batteries has been much needed.
