In July I had day surgery to remove a lump close to my testicles. The lump had been there some time and it was only by chance that I mentioned it to my GP when I had an appointment for something else, that she thought it worth getting looked into. After a couple of ultrasound scans it was decided to take it out. The result of the biopsy was that it was a papillary cystadenoma, which is a quite rare benign tumour. There was concern that it may signify another rare condition called Von Hippel-Lindau disease. I was warned that recovery post op might take a few days and I might be sore, but fortunately in the end I wasn’t too bad at all afterwards and made a good and speedy recovery.
I couldn’t stop writing and recording songs in July and I got to the point where I realised that it might be perfectly possible to finish the recording of album number two before the month was over. I succeeded and what was more important was that everything in my opinion was top notch and as good as it could be. Three months to write and record a new album, I would never have thought that I could do that. It gave me a huge sense of pride. I also chose the album title with Destination Unknown a phrase from track 4 on the album called Last Train.
July flew by… I knew that there was no way that I could sit on the album for a year or so to potentially release it in the second half of 2024. So I came to the decision that January 1st would be a good time to release it. That would give me 5 months to get everything ready and promote the album.
