Another beautiful soul was lost far too young to bowel cancer at the weekend. Lisa Wells was a young mother and leaves behind a husband and two young children.

I didn’t know Lisa that well. We were connected on social media, and not too long ago she contacted me about taking part in my book. It was such a kind offer of help and support, and from the many heartfelt tributes I have read since her death pretty typical of such a wonderful person. Unfortunately the book was already finished, and I already had copies back from the printers. I told her she could be in the next book, so now I wish had been able to meet and include her for The Record.

Lisa did an enormous amount to raise awareness about bowel cancer, and she also published a children’s book. The Lisa’s Army fundraising campaign has raised a massive amount of money.

Most importantly though is my thoughts are with her family and friends at this very sad time.

I shall continue with my own fundraising efforts, and continue to raise awareness about bowel cancer.
