The switch to broadcasting live each week has not been without one or two technical hiccups, but there is no doubt that it is bringing in more listeners each week. Broadcating live gives me more flexability with the show right up until we go live. In the old days of doing pre-recorded shows, sometimes I recorded the shows a week ahead. Although broadcasting live puts me a little out of my comfort zone, I am really enjoying it and I am always looking forward to the next show. The live show also allows anyone who signs up for a free Mixcloud account to come on the live chat feed. Try it there’s a friendlyt crowd there each week.
I have prouded myself in keeping the standard of music played each to the very highest standard. I stick to a very simple criteria. If I like it I will play it… I try to keep the music interesting and I see it as a journey of discovery. It certainly is for me and hopefully the listener too. There is so much decent new music out there, so I try to strike a healthy balance between the new stuff and old classic tracks.
Over the last couple of months the show has also been syndicated to 4 radio stations. This helps the show to grow and gets the music I play out to a much bigger audience. In time I am hoping the show will be picked up by some more stations. To do this I just have to keep working hard at making it the best show I can each week. If you are a regular listener and reading this then please hekp to spread the word about the show. The more people who engage the better the chances of being picked up by some more radio stations.
