Show 14 is kind of split down the middle with old classics and new tunes. The question is do you class tracks from 2006/07, of which there are a few in this week’s show, as old classics? I thought it was about time to have something by The Stone Roses on the show and a great song to start the show with. I loved The Holloways and it’s good to see they are back playing live in 2024. Generator is a great song and no doubt in a future show I will be playing the equally as good Two Left Feet.
A week ago I was in North Wales to enjoy Mike Peters performing at The Red in Dyserth. On Saturday night Mr Punk AF, Paul Hammond, came along to say hi. We had another good catch up. I must reiterate once again how helpful and support he has been to this show. His old band GMX Stuns did a cover of Anarchy In The UK 30 years ago. Not only was I glad to give it a spin, but it is soon to be reissued as a red vinyl 7″, which should be brilliant!
This week one of the bands that I have found through listening to Punk AK, Strip Search Tramps, sent me their current album release, B-Movie Disasters, after I made contact with them. The track Ripper is utterly brilliant. Also discovered on Punk AF are The Pill, who have a brilliant track out at the moment called Bale of Hay. There are some classic tracks from XTC and The Dead Kennedys, and also the totally bonkers Froggy and the Ringes. When I first started listening to Punk AF during lockdown, this track was the first record I bought through listening to the show. To finish with this week is a kind of unusual track from Ash called Dare To Dream. Perhaps not their normal energised sound, but totally beautiful. Full track listing is below and it’s another great show. Listen, share and enjoy x
