The news broke after I had already recorded Show 15 that Mike Peters of The Alarm has a new cancer fight on his hands. He has lived with leukaemia for 29 years, and a new lump and progression has left him with a very tough time ahead. Thoughts are with Mike, Jules and the whole family. It was pure coincidence that the show already had two Alarm tracks in it, as last week saw the release of their covers album, Music Television. Two great tracks, The Man Who Fell To Earth and Video Killed The Radio Star.

The show opens with a classic single from The Jam and is followed by a great Northern Soul cover by Dodgy. Tracks new to me this included Emily Kane by Art Brut and Wanted by The Refreshments. There is new music from Pearl Jam, and some classics favourites of mine from The Supernaturals, Serious Drinking and Spizzenergy. The show ends with a mighty track from the late Kirsty MacColl
