The support over the last couple of days for the Bowelbabe Teddy Bears has been truly amazing, and exceeded anything that I could possibly have hoped for. The kindness and generosity of people has been incredibly special, something that I will never forget. It mirrors the support for the Bowelbabe Fund nationally, and Deborah quite rightly got royal recognition from William and Kate today.

I’ve donated £700 to the Bowelbabe Fund tonight, and I will make further donations hopefully as a few more sales come in. There have been some lovely acts of kindness with one donation of 5 extra bears for me to handout, and also another kind order which I delivered today to the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice in Maidenhead. Thank you to everyone who has kindly ordered a bear so far, and to everyone for their love and support today x

Tonight, once I post this, I will crack on with printing some more bears. The biggest challenge is keeping up with demand. I can’t bring in too many teddies as I could end up with lots of unsold stock which is expensive. So yesterday I ordered a batch. All sold! Today I have ordered another batch also an increased quantity. All sold in advance! So tomorrow I will no doubt be ordering more. What a lovely problem to have though, and thank you to every one for the support x

The bears cost £20 including postage, and all profits raised from every sale will be donated to the Bowelbabe Fund. Not only are they a really lovely item to treasure, they also play a great role in raising awareness about bowel cancer. 45 people lose their lives every day in the UK. It’s still the second biggest cancer killer, and yet can be treated successfully in most cases when diagnosed at an early stage. As Deborah says, “Check Your Poo!” It might just save your life x
