A lovely surprise in the post at work today with the arrival of the sunburst vinyl edition of Carol Hodge’s brilliant album The Crippling Space Between. It looks and sounds just gorgeous. My favourite album of 2021. I also ordered a hand-written lyric sheet, and Carol has very kindly done my favourite track on the album, Best Thing In This Town. I would highly recommend that you check out the album on all the usual platforms or go and visit the https://www.carolhodge.co.uk website.
After the crazy events of yesterday and the Life Of Mique teddies in hoodies sales, it has been somewhat calmer today, although still well over 500 views on the website and some more orders coming through for which I am truly grateful. I have received a few orders which haven’t yet been paid for, so it’s difficult to give the total amount raised accurately so far until I know if these orders are going to be paid for. 48 hours ago this was just an idea which I launched on the spur of the moment. The bears, the hoodies and the glitzy gold vinyl were ordered today, so it’s all systems go. I’ll keep everyone updated, but it shouldn’t be too long before I begin sending out the bears. The support on my https://rivers2cross.com website has been quite brilliant thank you so much. All profits from every sale of the teddies will be donated to the Go Fund Me page for Monique Buckingham, which is raising money to fund treatments not available on the NHS. There are no more treatment options available to Monique on the NHS… Monique has stage 4 bowel cancer and faces a terminal diagnosis and end of life care without further treatment.
At the end of September last year I took a massive step in contacting my GP about my mental health. For the last three months I have been having CBT therapy sessions with Talking Therapies on the NHS, and today I have been signed off at the end of those sessions. Along with the Sertraline I am feeling much better in terms of depression and anxiety. I have some tools in place to deal better with triggering situations and a better understanding of how I function. However, I am also very aware that I am not “cured” and the hard work continues as I move forward. I am extremely grateful to our NHS for this help it offers. I have a follow-up appointment in three months time, and can always contact them if I feel I need to. Thank you to everyone who has supported me since I was able to start telling people about this. I am very lucky to have such a great support network. The future is bright. Until tomorrow x
