Today I can reveal that the new book is finished with the completion of the final chapter, which has involved me talking to, and corresponding with Nicole Cooper in Melbourne, who has stage 4 bowel cancer. She is another amazing person who I’ve met on social media, and who has given their support to this book.
- 65 Chapters
- Over 80,000
- Around 100 photos
So what next? The book is is now with my great friend Joanna, who is now proof reading it for me. I owe her a huge debt of gratitude, as over the last two and a half years she has spent endless hours editing chapter after chapter I’ve sent her, turning my ramblings into something presentable!
I need to finish the book cover, but it will be based on the above design, which is a painting done by Greg Gilbert – artist, writer and singer – who has stage 4 bowel cancer.
The important question is when will it be published? Providing there are no major issues with the proof reading, or the proof copies that will follow, my intention is to publish the book on either May 31st or June 6th. Pre-order order links will hopefully be ready to go live by the end of April, as I’d love to launch the countdown during bowel cancer awareness month.
The book will be available in ebook, paperback, and hardback formats. Pricing will be similar to the Lives & Times book as I want it to be affordable, but raise as much funds for the charity as possible.
It is not looking likely that there will a launch party. I’ve not got very far with that, and with no budget I think it will sadly be a bridge too far for this one man band.
