On this day 10 years ago, Mum had the operation to remove the tumour from her bowel. It was a lovely late summers / early autumn day as you can see from the photo I took whilst walking the dogs at work that day. This was the first of five major operations that Mum was to have, and there was little any of us could on that day, but wait for news from the hospital. The news when it came in the evening was good news as the operation had been a success.
On the back of the cover for A New Dawn there are a number of people who get special thanks. The album for the most part has been very much a solo project, which is as much down to circumstances as anything else. However, there are some people I wanted to thank.

Today, I finally got round to ordering a new passport. My last one ran out a couple of years ago at the start of the pandemic, so there was little point in bothering to renew it at the time. I haven’t been someone who has been chomping at the bit to get on a plane,
Today has been a day of arrivals. This wonderful print arrived today and is the creation of the amazingly talented Lucy Dunbar. There is no mistaking the late Dame Deborah James and Lucy is selling these prints to raise funds for the Bowelbabe Fund. It’s such a beautiful illustration and once the frame arrives it
Kindness plays such a big part in my life these days. Time and time again I witness wonderful acts of kindness, and today it once again made my day. The recent release of the Laura Lou teddy bears supporting Laura Hopkinson’s Go Fund Me page led to my American friend Lisa asking me if she
