More exciting news today with a date set to meet Kim Wilde for the forthcoming bowel cancer fundraising book, The Record, which will be published next year. 2018 has been a very busy year for Kim with the long awaited release of a new album, Here Come The Aliens, and she has been back out on the road touring too. Plenty to talk about with someone who was the UK’s most successful female solo artist in the 1980s selling millions of records worldwide, and maybe the opportunity to get a gardening tip too…
Bowel cancer is the second highest cancer killer in the UK claiming 16,000 lives each year. However if detected early it can be successfully treated in over 90% of cases. A massive challenge is to improve the early detection rates giving more patients a better chance of living longer. At the moment only 15% of bowel cancer patients are diagnosed at the early stage 1. I am writing the new book in memory of my mum, who sadly died from bowel cancer in August 2016. All funds raised from sales will be donated to Bowel Cancer UK (Beating Bowel Cancer Together), the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity.
