Today I went to the Bowel Cancer UK Patient Day at The Christie in Manchester armed with copies of my new fundraising book The Record and some teddy bears. It was a really nice day with the bowel cancer community at its friendly and welcoming best. I managed to sell almost a box full of the paperback editions, so that will make a nice difference to the fundraising total.
I’d like to do a few more of this type of event as the reaction to the book seems to be very favourable, so if anyone has any ideas or events that might work please let me know.
The front cover of the book continues to impress people. It’s a painting done by artist, writer and musician Greg Gilbert who has stage 4 bowel cancer and along with his wife Stacey features in the book.
I now begin the hard work of marketing the book in earnest. It is the best thing I have ever done in my humble opinion and with all proceeds raised from sales donated to Bowel Cancer UK I am hoping to sell as many copies as possible. Please click here to order.
The Record has been written in memory of my mum who died of bowel cancer in 2016.
