Here is the first view of the front cover of my new bowel cancer charity book, The Record. The image is a painting I own by Greg Gilbert, who has very kindly allowed me to use it for the book. Greg has stage 4 bowel cancer, and the extremely talented musician, artist, and poet features in the book, along with his wife Stacey Heale.

I decided to not clutter the front cover up with too much text, to allow the image to have maximum impact. I applied quite a bit of contrast and darkened the image to allow the use of white text. The back cover carriers the information about the book. Publication date is 21 June, and pre-orders details will be posted in the next week or two. All proceeds raised will be donated to Bowel Cancer UK in memory of mum who died of bowel cancer in 2016.

I’ve been working really hard to get the book finished during bowel cancer awareness month, which is currently taking place, and this has been achieved much due to the work of my friend and editor, Joanna, who has proof read it for me and got it into shape.

The hardback and paperback editions are currently awaiting approval from the printers, and then I will get proof copies for a final check before launching pre-sales.

I will also be looking for help over the next 2-3 months with marketing and publicity. The more people who are prepared to write about, share posts and generally help increase the book’s profile, the more successful it will be. Please contact me if you are able to help.
