The Record has raised over £925 since its publication one year ago. It is available as a hardback, paperback and an eBook, and was written in memory of my mum who died of bowel cancer in 2016. The book took over two and half years to complete, and it contains 65 chapters and 80,000 words. I regard it as the best thing I’ve ever done and what I am most proud of. All profits raised are being donated to Bowel Cancer UK.

My plan during 2020 was to take the book to as many events as possible, which is always a good way to boost sales and raise funds. Sadly the recent COVID-19 global pandemic has put paid to all those hopes for this year. However, charities like Bowel Cancer UK need our support more than ever, as it’s standing to lose around half of its annual income. Every single sale of The Record really does a make a difference. The bowel cancer community in particular have been incredibly supportive. Included in the book are people living with bowel cancer, and those close to them affected by this awful disease. Their stories are inspiring, but for some life with bowel cancer continues. It was an absolute honour to meet these wonderful people.

I travelled all over the UK to meet with people from the worlds of sport, television, the media and music. All these amazing experiences with an incredibly supportive set of people are documented in The Record. I even got to meet and interview Basil Brush!

Each person taking part has told me about the first record that they bought, and all have been willing to help raise awareness about bowel cancer, which is Britain’s second highest cancer killer.

The Record is available in the online shop and can also be bought from me directly. It is also available from all major online book retailers. Please click here to find out all the ways that you can buy The Record.
