Reflections on Fundraising During 2020
Much of what I do on here is about my fundraising, but recently I have been going through a period of reflection, and perhaps this is something I need to do in order to look to the future.

Much of what I do on here is about my fundraising, but recently I have been going through a period of reflection, and perhaps this is something I need to do in order to look to the future.
In December 2018 I travelled to Brighton to meet Steve Norman and Sabrina Winter for my recently published charity book The Record that I have written in memory of my mum who died of bowel cancer in 2016.
This December I have set myself a challenge of selling 25 additional copies of the Goodbye Farewell 4-track CD. It costs £5 and is available from rivers2cross.com. All profits raised from every sale are donated to Bowel cancer UK in memory of Kelly Smith who died of bowel cancer in June. The release has raised almost £350 so far and charities are in desperate need of our continued support with their income dramatically reduced this year as a result of the pandemic.
The Record has raised over £1000 since being published last year, and it would make a lovely Christmas gift. It’s available as a hardback, paperback and an eBook. I wrote the book in memory of my mum who died of bowel cancer in 2016. The book took over two and half years to complete, and it contains 65 chapters and 80,000 words. All proceeds raised from sales are being donated to Bowel Cancer UK.
There is one additional version of Goodbye Farewell available to purchase as a digital download, which is the original version by Fields of Dawn. You can buy it for just £0.99 from https://rivers2cross.com/product/goodbye-farewell-fieldsofdawn/ You can also find it on streaming platforms just search Goodbye Farewell by Fields of Dawn.
I did my first ever live radio interview last week with Darren Harte on HFM Radio, which is based in Leicestershire. The chat about the Goodbye Farewell EP came about after we were put in touch by Melissa Webster, whose husband Steve sings on track 3 of the release. It was a great opportunity to
The final track on the Goodbye Farewell 4-track EP features Jason Bradley and Mike Dlugozima with a quite beautiful version of Goodbye Farewell. This was a transatlantic collaboration done through the wonders of social media. Jason from Sheffield sent me the keyboard track, which I then forwarded to Mike in New York State. The biggest challenge for me was syncing Mike’s vocal to the keyboards on my 8-track Boss digital recorder. It turned out quite brilliantly!
A massive thanks to Dave Francis for playing the Carol Hodge version of Goodbye Farewell on his Sunday lunchtime show on Radio Albatross. Dave has been a great supporter of all the Fields of Dawn releases this year. He has also very kindly allowed me to put the clip up here for you to listen
The third track on the Goodbye Farewell 4-track EP features Steve Webster doing a quite brilliant version of Goodbye Farewell. Steve worked on the track with David Martin, who did all the instrumentation. Steve sings with Joyrider, who play at weddings, corporate events and functions, Check out their channel on youtube.com, and he has also
Track 2 on the Goodbye Farewell 4-track EP is the superb version of the song recorded by James Walsh and Peter Kirby aka KirbyWalsh. When I first put out the original idea for Goodbye Farewell, James was the first person to respond, and this version was also the first to be completed. I also had
