Bowel Cancer UK Meet Together in London

I spent a really enjoyable couple of hours at the Bowel Cancer UK Meet Together in London this afternoon. It was held at the Horniman at Hays at London Bridge. It was a great opportunity to meet up with friends that I’ve met on social media, and make new friendships too. It’s a wonderful community who have been very supportive to me over the years.

Mum on Dickison’s Real Deal

I can’t remember exactly when this was, but perhaps a year or two before she died. She decided to sell off some on the family silverware when she found out they filming Dickinson’s Real Deal just down the road. I think would probably have put the money towards her annual Greek Island hopping holiday she went on with her friend Anne.

Bill Turnbull – The First Record That I Bought

The reason why Bill and everyone in the book is taking part is to help raise funds for Bowel Cancer UK, and to help raise awareness about this awful disease. My Mum died of bowel cancer in August 2016, having been first been diagnosed with cancer back in 2012. Bowel cancer claims 16,000 lives each year, making it the second highest cancer killer in the UK. Yet if detected early it can be successfully treated in over 90% of cases.
