It may seem a little odd to talk about the end of Fields of Dawn with the forthcoming album being released on New Years Day. However, there are some reasons behind my reasons for calling time on this particular musical venture. Fields of Dawn has been going for almost 4 years and raised around £3000
April sees a brand new music release dedicated to the memory of Laura Hopkinson with 100% of the profits raised by every sale donated to MacMillan and St Oswald’s Hospice. These two charitable organisations, chosen by Laura’s family, provided her with great help and support.
The debut fundraising album from my music project Fields of Dawn was released last September and so far has raised over £1300. A New Dawn is available on vinyl, CD and digital download. Two tracks were recorded with Steve Smiley Barnard of The Alarm at the helm and the other other 9 songs all self-produced. The songs were written by myself and have a punky, alternative, melodic perhaps power pop sound to them. The one track that is the exception to this is No Man’s Land, which is a piano ballad about that legendary football match during World War 1, which also featured on the Reflections EP that came out last Christmas.

Cover versions… I don’t want to just play a set of cover versions by the artists that I like, but I also think slipping in one or two covers would be good fun and an interesting challenge. Once again I am taking my time thinking about potential songs to play live.
Performing in public has always terrified me and that’s just playing the guitar, so when you add singing into the mix, this really is a massive challenge for me.
Believe is the brand new release from The Majority and is available to pre-order on CD, 12″ Vinyl and Digital Download. We have been truly honoured to have the amazing Beki Hemingway on guest vocals and she has taken the track to a whole new level with her amazing voice.
June is bowel cancer awareness month in Australia and New Zealand. The Final Post is a very special release from my musical project Fields of Dawn and is closely connected to Australia by the Nicole song. Four very special and emotional songs raising awareness about bowel cancer and funds for three bowel cancer charities, Bowel Cancer Australia, Bowel Cancer UK and The Bowel Movement. The songs are written about and dedicated to the memory of two beautiful young ladies recently lost to bowel cancer, Nicole Cooper and Monique Buckingham.
